Highlights of the site include the Baths of Scholastica, the magnificent Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, and the impressive Great Theatre.The Library of Celsus was built in the early 2nd century AD by Tiberius Julius Aquila in memory of his father, Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, a Roman senator and governor of the Province of Asia.Another highlight is the Great Theatre, originally constructed in the 3rd century BC and later expanded during the Roman period in the 1st century AD.
